This beautiful religious site is one of the centrepieces of the town. Situated close to the centre of the community, the abbey has been a place of worship and quiet religious reflection for many hundreds of years. The architecture is of interest to almost all of those who pass, fusing the traditional local styles of building and design with those borrowed from other parts of Europe, especially Italy. The abbey is open to visitors all year around.
