The amphitheatre is one of the most spectacular structures in the small town of Cap D’Ail. It has its routes in Roman times and although it is no longer fully complete, it is still an interesting monument to the past that you are invited as a visitor to have a look around. Something of note worth looking at are the paintings that have been directly painted onto the walls of parts of the theatre, they are by famous artist Jean Cocteau.
