This museum is focussed on the history of the Basque people and the people of Bayonne. The city, as a major fishing port has always been one of the windows on the world for the Basques. This exhibition explores the unique history of the area and the relationship, sometimes turbulent, it has shared with the people and political leaders of both France and Spain. There are many photographs, artefacts and documents on show in the museum.
