The Rhine and Rhone Canal as you might expect from its name connects the two great rivers that flow through France. It runs through the heart of Dole, creating a cooling energy to the centre of the community. Many tourists and locals like to stroll along the banks of the canal and follow it away from the excellent looking man made structures of the town centre into the wonderful pastoral scenes of the countryside.
