The penitent orders have a long and proud history in the southern areas of France. This small chapel was originally built to house the order of Grey Penitents, a substantial religious order in the town. The chapel is many hundreds of years old and is a beautiful example of this type of ecclesiastical architecture. Within the chapel, like all penitent orders, there is a fine collection of art and sculpture on display for the enjoyment of the visitor.
