This museum is located a couple of kilometres outside of Chambery, but is well worth the trip. It is housed in the country house of one of the greatest names in philosophy and political science, Jean Jacques Rousseau. Rousseau lived in this house from 1736 to 1742 with his lover. It is possible to take tours of the house in the summer months, they are generally organised by the local Tourist Information in Chambery. Occasional music events take place at the museum.
