Chartreuse Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the city of Bordeaux, and is situated fairly close to the centre of the community. It acts in a twin role within the city. It obviously provides a large burial ground for the great, the good and the ordinary people of the city after they die. However it is also a great place to go for a quiet and tranquil walk, escaping the usually busy streets of the city and surrounding oneself in trees and shrubs.
