There are few that would contest that this is one of the most magnificent chateaus in the region. Both internally and externally it has been presented and preserved immaculately. Built over a nearly ten year period between 1625 and 1634 the beautiful chateau is constructed of white stone. Surrounded by manicured gardens, it is well worth a look at several of the main rooms in the castle, some of which contain priceless antique furniture and artworks. During World War II, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa was hidden in the Orangerie.
