If you want to experience the true Breton way of life by the sea, you have to make the time to visit the fish warehouses, down in the old fishing port area of Concarneau. Every weekday morning there is a massive fish auction, where all of the trawlers and fishing boats park up and bring their nights catch ashore. Even if you aren’t interested in buying some of the freshest fish you’ll ever see, the procession and tradition of the event is something worth getting up early for.
