It is a shame that some of the gardens of this magnificent chateau were neglected for a period of time after the French Revolution, however today they have been largely returned to their former glory. The French Gardens are some of the most immaculately designed and well kept gardens in the region, representing the best of pastoral France through shrubs, flowers and trees. Laid out in the 17th Century, the Grand Canal which flows across the back of the gardens helps frame the idyllic scene.
