If you travel a short way to the south-west of the centre of the town you will reach a wonderful piece of natural land that has been preserved by the local authority as a pastoral haven, attracting wild animal and rare plants. It is possible to walk through the wooded and untouched environment, breathing in the fresh air and really feeling part of nature. This is some of the French countryside at its very best.
