Clermont-Ferrand’s second museum, the Lecoq Museum is situated near the Baudoin Museum and specialises in natural history. It is a popular attraction for families with children, and for the city’s large student community. The museum is divided into several sections. Its large collections include extensive geological specimens and provide a guide through the local fossil record. There is an extensive collection of stuffed animals many of which are native to the local region or France, but also include specimens of the fauna of other parts of the world.
