The Municipal Museum is probably the first place you head for when you visit Cognac as it has a fairly comprehensive history of the town laid out in an interesting and simple fashion through a series of exhibitions. The town is of course most famous for the spirit which shares the name of the community and has been made there for many hundreds of years. The museum is filled with artefacts and pictures which relate to the way this drink has changed the face of Cognac forever.
