The Musical Fountain is one of the more interesting and unusual tourist attractions in Cahors. Situated to the north of the old city area of the town, the fine piece of architecture is a striking modern feature in what is otherwise an extremely historic city. The fountain was put in place in 1989, and a little like the Mechanical Clock, was part of a programme to make the streets more exciting for visitors. Best viewed at night, the fountains’ waters dance to a series of beautiful tunes.
