The Natural History Museum is one of the more popular museums in the town of Chambery. It is filled with specimens that have been collected from the local area and across Europe and the world. These have been classed into animal, human, mineral and plant life sections. The centre is particularly well known for the botanical collection that it keeps in the permanent collection. The plants that it has are quite unusual for the local area and include a Lebanon cedar amongst others.
