The first stone was laid in the construction of this magnificent basilica in the 11th Century. It took many years to complete, and has been significantly overhauled on several occasions in the last thousand years. A fine example of Auvergant-Romanesque architecture, the church is one of the largest, most beautiful and recognisable in the city. Within the building, visitors are treated to large selection of interesting carvings and stonework.
