The penitent’s chapel is situated to the north-west of the main part of this community and can be viewed across a small lake which highlights its simple architectural beauty. It has stood in this place for the best part of a thousand years and was originally built for the exclusive use of the penitent order, although today members of the public are allowed to visit and worship at the chapel.
