Situated in the Montferrand area of the city, this museum is an architecturally superb complex. Within the museum is a large collection of artworks that date from the 15th Century to the present day. All of the major artistic disciplines are covered, with a vast collection of paintings by French and other European artists, sculpture and carvings. The museum is arranged in chronological order, taking visitors on a journey through the artistic past of the European continent.
