This fine looking city church was begun in the early 16th Century and took a great deal of decades to complete. The building was added to in several major ways during the 17th Century, including the addition of barrel vault roof in 1625. As time went on, the church continued to be developed and again in the 19th Century there were several major overhauls. The church remains one of the most popular places of worship in the city, partly because of the fantastic Saint Michel Chapel and its stained glass.
