This tower is one of the most iconic images of the town of Autun. Marking the very southern tip of the old walled city, originally the tower would have served as a lookout point for the townspeople in the defence of their community. The beautiful piece of 12th Century architecture is topped with a statue and is recognised as being one of the best preserved buildings of this age remaining in the city. It is best viewed from the ramparts.
