When the tourist information office is open, it is possible to access the staircase which takes you to the top of this fine tower at the heart of Cluny. It is so named because it was once the area where the cheese was dried out and eventually sold in the community. This tower offers fantastic views of the old town centre and across the area out into the countryside. A small charge is made to enter the building, levied at the tourist office below.
