The town hall is of course one of the most important buildings in the city and there has been an official place of business in this area for many hundreds of years. The current building was inaugurated in the early 18th Century and contains a great many artistic and architectural treasures including one of the most exquisite staircases in this area of France. Many parts of the building are open to the public.
