Most of the oldest and most attractive buildings in Boulogne-sur-Mer are located in the heart of the old walled town, particularly congregated around Place Godefroy de Bouillon. The Town Hall is of course one of the finest examples of these, built in the 18th Century, it is a beautiful example of the local architectural style. The beautiful building is still a working administrative centre and is occasionally open for exhibitions on various local themes.
