The Alsace Museum is one of several in the region that is dedicated to the history and culture of the area. Quite unlike most parts of France that since the unification have been relatively undisputed, this area has changed hands in part between France and Germany over a period of about two hundred years. That has given it a unique identity and made the culture and people quite different to the rest of France, explored in a series of exhibitions.
