In Germany white wine is king, and this is not always the case in France, in fact in most areas red wines are seen as being the way to make a truly world class drink. Challenging this hypothesis, the people of the north east of France take on many of the influences of their neighbours and use the lush green conditions that surround them to produce fine white wines that are world beaters.
