Fontainebleau Chateau
Fontainebleau 77300 - France

Map
The first chateau on this site was built in the 12th Century and was enlarged over about a century, finally brought together by Louis IX. Several monarchs have lived in the house and visited it over a period of many hundreds of years. Without doubt, one of the finest looking castles in France, both internally and externally. The beautiful building is a mixture of French and Italian styles making for a wonderful hybrid of styles. It remains one of the most visited chateaus in France.
