Fort de la Bastille is without a doubt one of the most spectacular places that you can visit during your stay in Grenoble. Situated high above the city, in fact 263 metres above the old city, this old fortification was first constructed in the 16th Century. In the 19th Century, the structure was added to again, making it a formidable viewing point for defensive purposes. Today visitors enjoy the same views of the area, over the city and on a clear day one can see Mont Blanc.
