Notre Dame church stands at the harbours edge on a small peninsular that moves out towards the unprotected and windswept port where the majority of the towns boats dock and have always been kept. The church is a proud looking structure, tall and strong, and acted as a beacon of hope and faith to sailors as the lat sight they saw when they left the town and the first sight they saw when they were nearly home after a long voyage.
