The Prefecture Building is the most important administrative area in this area of the Alps and is responsible for overseeing the administration of many towns and villages that line this beautiful rural region. The building itself is a masterpiece of architectural design and is therefore a popular place for tourists to stop and admire the great stone facades and on occasion browse some of the publicly accessible inner rooms of the building.
