Constructed by well known architect Pierre Bossan, between 1872 and 1884, this is without a doubt one of the finest church buildings in the city. A magnificent and majestic structure, it towers above the city. Nicknamed ‘the upside down elephant’ it is a classic example of the eclectic architectural style of the 19th Century in this area. This place is also home to a small museum and a viewing tower, making it one of the most visited sites in Lyon.
