Pierre Bossan designed several of the most prominent churches in the heart of Lyon. He started work on this grand structure in 1856 and wasn’t finished until the end of the 19th Century, completed by an architect named Franchet. The result of two architects work, and many years of building, is a quite strange and interesting mixture of ‘neo’ everything. The church is recognised by fans of architecture a being one of the best in the city.
