These gardens are a fascinating place to visit, at the heart of the old town, in Lyon. The gardens have been a site of excavation since the 1970s, when the first clues were found to there being an old church in the area. Since then there have been many discoveries of smaller chapels, roman artefacts and clues to some of the earliest days of the Christian faith in this area of France, and Europe. Many of the artefacts are on display in this beautiful garden area that is open to the public.
