This type of museum can be found in towns and cities across France, particularly those which were significantly affected by the actions of the Nazi armies in the Second World War. Housed in a beautiful 18th Century building, this museum tells the harrowing story of the displacement and extermination of a massive Jewish population from France and the rest of Europe in the 1940s. Through photographs, maps and documents, visitors also find out about the work of the French Resistance, to aid the Allies defence.
