Much of the ramparts have been destroyed over the years, either by fighting, or simply that they have been left to decay since they have no longer been needed for defence. However, you can see most of the areas where the town walls would have gone, and some significant sections are still in place. Walking around this circuit and up onto the higher sections is a great way of getting your bearings and getting to know the community.
