This beach is the most wild of the three main beaches in the heart of the town. It faces almost directly onto the Atlantic Ocean and therefore receives the most wild winds and waves. For this reason it is more favoured by surfers and fun seekers than families, who prefer to go to the safer and calmer sands inside the basin. However, the beach is a fun place to visit and is guarded by lifeguards at most times in the summer months.
