This is one of the finest public squares in the city, taking its name from a Dominican convent that stood on the site from the 13th Century. The convent was destroyed during the extensive fighting in the area as part of the French Revolution. Today, the square is a place of meeting, rest and relaxation for the people of the community. Flanked by beautiful historic buildings, bars, restaurants and cafes; the square is one of the best places to sit and watch the world go by.
