The history and present of this area is based around the sea and has been shaped by those who work on it day to day. The old port has been converted into a a large area where many pleasure craft are now moored throughout the year. The area around the port has been developed into a pleasant square in which local people and tourists mingle and sit in the cafes and bars watching the boats come and go and the tide roll in.
