The Ramparts surround the old medieval city and for nearly a thousand years have protected the nobles and the common people of the community from attack. The large stone walls have remained largely as they were when they were constructed and visitors like to stroll around sections of them. It is a good way to get an overall perspective of the city and to find your bearings whilst enjoying some impressive views of town and country.
