The River Rhone is one of the most famous confluences in the world and majestically cuts its way through the French countryside, and has left a remarkably spectacular valley in its wake. Many of the small villages that have grown up around the river rely on it for life and transport, or certainly have done historically. It is a great experience to follow the path of the river for a few miles, taking in the wildlife, plant life and countryside beyond.
