If you want to get a feel for how people have lived for many centuries in Limoges, you are probably best to head for the Chateau Quarter of the city, and particularly Rue de la Boucherie. Once the place where all of the butchers shops were positioned in the community, this street has hardly been touched by the last few hundred years. It is lined with immaculately preserved half timber houses, giving visitors the impression they have stepped back in time.
