The original church building was constructed in the 17th Century and underwent a major refit under the guidance of the architect Loyer in the 18th Century. You could be forgiven for thinking that you were in the wrong country when you first catch a glimpse of the magnificent facade as it is something straight out of the streets of old Rome. The fine Baroque style church is a popular place of worship and has for many years been a favourite with visitors.
