The present building that stands on this historic site was opened as the home of the local bishop in the 1840s. Since that time it has been disused and opened again as a fine museum that celebrates the rich history of the Tessé family who once ruled supreme over this area of the city. The collection contains some exquisite works of art as well as some of the best preserved examples of period furniture you will find anywhere in the city.
