The River Saône is one of the more famous in France. It is far more forceful than its nearby neighbour the River Rhone. The Saône is the reason that the city of Lyon was constructed, and took many thousands of years to find its path through the area. Today the banks of the river in the centre of the city are one of the finest places to visit, if you feel like sitting back and relaxing. Bars and cafes line the area and make it a great area for watching the world go by.
