The Archbishop’s Palace was first designed in the 12th Century and was intended to create a safe place of comfort for the residents, even whilst under attack. The military prowess of the building can be seen from the large turrets that emanate from the top. In recent times the palace has become home to three of the cities favourite museums, the Archaeology Museum, Art History Museum and Holy Roman Museum, all of which can be accessed with a ‘golden ticket’ to the complex.
