Boule or Petanque as it is often called is one of the national games of France and is very popular, especially amongst older members of the community. This large purpose built series of courts is situated at the heart of a large square and makes for one of the most quintessentially French scenes you’ll ever see. If you feel brave you are welcome to join in a game, however you are just as welcome to watch the game unfold on a sunny evening.
