The small canal tracks through the suburban areas of Paris, and along its way passes some fascinating urban scenes. There is a towpath that follows the canal and is a popular place for the slightly more adventurous tourists to take a walk and see another side of Paris and its surrounding areas, that isn’t in any of the guide books. Although the canal largely travels through urban areas, it is amazing how many animals and birds you’ll spot in and around the water.
