According to legend, it was Julius Cesar himself who ordered the building of Cesar’s Tower in the city, although this cannot be true as the tower was not built until the 12th Century. Nevertheless it is a significant and beautiful part of the makeup of the city, and contains some interesting internal features such as a well preserved guardroom which is open to the public. The tower is open throughout the year to visitors.
