This building stands opposite the famous old Roman temple, on the other side of the square. It is thought that when the art museum was built in 1993, that it was inspired by the temple, although it is quite the opposite, in that it appears to be a complete beacon of all things that represent modernity. Within the museum is a fine collection of contemporary art from some of the best 20th Century artists, sculptures and makers of installation pieces.
