This is the main art museum of the city of Mulhouse, owned and run by the local authority it is filled with paintings that have been acquired by the town over a period of many hundreds of years. The collection is not as outstanding as that of some of the larger towns and cities of France, but there is a good cross section of works from the major French and European schools of painting of the past and a few contemporary works.
