This is one of the best art museums in this area of France, housing a large and varied permanent collection. The museum has no particular theme, but instead strives to keep a collection of paintings that are world-class, painted by well known artists and have an internationally recognisable draw. The gallery succeeds in all of these ambitions. For three months each year, the museum also hosts a large visiting collection from the Louvre in Paris.
